What does Mallings Le Randonneur gin taste like?
Distilled with wild juniper berries handpicked in the Pyrenees, Le Randonneur expresses an authentic and vibrant character. Upon opening, juicy aromas of blueberry and blackberry come to the fore, followed by the freshness of juniper and a subtle note of licorice. Lemongrass adds a touch of brightness, while mild spices like cinnamon and coriander bring warmth and complexity.
Nose: Fruity and inviting—blueberry, blackberry, juniper, warm spices, and a hint of lemongrass.
Palate: A smooth, fruity opening, followed by a lovely balance of sweetness, a hint of licorice bitterness, and a spicy freshness.
Texture: Velvety, smooth, and elegant, with a lovely roundness on the palate.
Finish: Long, clean, and harmonious. The fruit fades gently, giving way to a very pleasant spicy freshness.
In short: An expressive, smooth, and sophisticated gin that perfectly blends wild berries with classic gin notes. Ideal in a G&T or enjoyed neat.
How to Enjoy Mallings Le Promeneur
A fine gin deserves to be served in a manner befitting its quality. Here’s how to enjoy it to the fullest:
Ingredients:
- Double serving (50 ml) of Mallings Le Promeneur
Tonic
Plenty of ice cubes (large cubes are recommended)
Large gin glass (Copa/Balloon, 60 cl recommended)
Preparation:
Fill the glass generously with ice cubes.
Pour 50 ml of Mallings Le Promeneur over the ice.
Gently top it off with the tonic water, just above the ice cubes, to preserve the balance of flavors.
Garnish with a few fresh blueberries or a thin slice of lemon to bring out the flavors. But it’s just as delicious on its own.
Serve immediately. Savour it slowly and relax!

The Southern Distillery
Our spirits are born in the heart of Ariège, at La Distillerie du Sud—a small-batch artisanal distillery located on a historic estate near Carla-de-Roquefort. In 2018, a former cowshed on this old apple orchard was carefully transformed into a vibrant hub for award-winning artisanal spirits, thanks to the passion and vision of its founder, Stephen Malling. Since then, Stephen and his team have been distilling with precision, perseverance, and heart—earning international recognition while remaining rooted in their local community. Every bottle reflects the craftsmanship and spirit of the Ariège.
